So, I'm watching the World Baseball Classic and a few things occur to me. First, why are the Cubans playing so shallow? Are they racist and think the Japanese are a bunch of singles hitters? Two, why do so many of the Cubans look like gringos? Three, why would the Japanese hold up the runner from first on the double in the 4th, then wave the runner from 2nd on the single in the 5th?

Most important, I noticed both the Japanese players (who I assume are speaking Japanese with each other) and the Cubans (who I assume are speaking Cuban Spanish) nod to each other when they mean yes, and shake their head when they mean no. When did all the languages get together and decide on that rule? Humans are amazing.
